As March passes, and with it some amazing trance parties, we march on into April looking forward to the impending return of Trance Sessions after a six month hiatus. They will be starting back up with a bang at ONE LOFT, bringing us some phenomenal headliners, namely Pharmacy Music label head Christopher Lawrence, and the long time Pharmacy Music recording artist Magnus. Magnus’s Toronto debut is sure to turn some heads with his blend of psy and melodic trancelift. Trance Sessions will be supporting their headliners with popular local residents DJ’s Brian Longmire and Buffalo, NY’s Nick Brzezinski aka M45 who are slotted to start the night off with a B2B set.
I’ve seen Christopher Lawrence many times, and I can easily say he is my number one favourite DJ and producer (although he is tied for that spot with John 00 Fleming). His blend of psytrance definitely rocks the dance floor every single time I see him live. The last time I saw him, at the Freakout Halloween event back in October 2017, it was an absolutely awesome night. His set with J00F at Trance Unity 2017 was off the charts as well, read about it over here in our review.
Christopher Lawrence has been making music since the 1990’s, starting off with more progressive trance before evolving his signature sound and style of psy that we all know and love. He throws many slammers, stompers and even some bangers into his sets. As an avid listener of his monthly two hour Pharmacy Radio podcast, I can definitely confirm that this event will be one no serious trance music fan will want to miss. Christopher Lawrence recently debuted his new track with Fergie & Sadrian titled Ajna on this month’s (March 2018) Pharmacy Radio podcast. The song is now available for pre-order and will be available for purchase on Beatport as of April 2nd, 2018. I am pretty confident Lawrence will use this opportunity to drop this new track in his Toronto set. Listen to the sneak peek below and then click here to purchase Ajna off of Beatport.
Fellow long-time Pharmacy Music recording artist Magnus will also be bringing his unique blend of psy and melodic, uplifting tunes to this lineup. He has been making music since 2002 and has many notable tracks. 2016’s Evoke made with artist Simon Patterson was one of his more recent standout track releases. In early 2017, he became the A&R for Perfecto Fluoro label under legendary DJ Paul Oakenfold. I can’t wait to see what kind of magic he brings for his debut here in Toronto.
