On Saturday, November 9, 2019, Trance Sessions returns with the next installment of their 3-year anniversary series. Legendary producer and VII Crew member/label boss John Askew will be returning to Toronto for a long-overdue open-to-close set at One Loft. This will be the second VII Crew all-nighter in this series after Orkidea’s gorgeous progressive set back in September. This night, however, will be much different. Askew is revered for his unique, high-energy performances and with a whole night to develop I know he will take us on an unforgettable journey.
If you want an idea of what we’re in for check out this epic 9-hour marathon from Luminosity Beach Festival this year:
Veteran UK DJ/producer John Askew started his DJ career back in the mid-90’s after spending his teenage years playing in rock bands. Upon attending his first rave and experiencing the immense power and emotion evoked by the experience, he ditched his guitar and picked up some decks and began his journey into the world of electronic music. He spent years DJing around the London area scene before releasing his debut artist album in 2006. “Lower The Tone” received much critical acclaim and sold out its initial pressing in only 4 weeks. Now, 25 years after that first taste of electronic bliss, he is a core member of one of the most-hyped collectives in the underground trance scene. The VII Crew represents seven unique artists, each considered to be at the top of their respective genres. Askew is widely regarded as a master of tech and melodic-infused acid trance and is certain to demonstrate his expertise Saturday night at One Loft.
Tickets are currently $30 and are available through the event page. This is the perfect opportunity to warm your bones with some high-energy beats, dancing the night away to one of the trance scene’s finest. Doors at One Loft open at 10 pm and the party goes non-stop until 5 am. Make sure you secure your ticket asap so you don’t miss out on this monumental night.
